38 weeks: the waiting game continues

We had our 38-week check-up today and it brought news of very little progress, but progress, nonetheless. Dr. Nokleberg estimates that we're dilated about half a centimeter and 25% effaced, which means the contractions I've been having are serving a purpose! The baby is still presenting high, so we don't have an official "station" to report. And, she is estimated to weigh 8lbs, which would put her at approximately 8.5lbs when we reach our estimated due date.

Dr. Nokleberg doesn't want my pregnancy to go much past 41 weeks, so she told me today that I will be admitted into the hospital for induction on Feb. 6 if I haven't delivered the baby by then.

Our next appointment is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 19.

For now, we're still waiting...

I am getting so excited for you! I am amazed at all the information you have! When I gave birth 35 years ago, we didn't know 'effacing' and 'stations' and 'pounds'.....well heck, we didn't even know gender!! You both have done a wonderful job on this pregnancy! Good luck!!!! Dachelle

Well, I'm still rooting for a January appearance by Miss Harper. She'll greet the world in her own sweet time though!
